Acupuncture:

A form of healthcare that is over 2,500 years old. Acupuncture is effective in treating numerous health conditions. Hair thin needles are inserted into very specific points to promote balance and healing. The sensations felt with the needles are not painful. The needles are sterile, stainless steel and disposable. A thorough history and physical examination are obtained and an Oriental medical diagnosis is established prior to treatment.

Additional modalities may be used in conjunction with treatment, such as:

Herbology: Herbs are carefully selected to correct imbalances within the body to assist in treating many different health conditions. Formulas consist of two or more herbs and will be taken in capsule or tablet form.

Tui Na: Chinese medical massage that moves Qi in various parts of the body. It is used to relieve muscle pain, tension, and inflammation.

Electrical stimulation: A mild electrical current is applied to provide continuous stimulation to acupuncture points.

Moxabustion: A form of heat therapy that uses an herb called mugwort to stimulate acupuncture points.

Cupping: Glass or plastic cups are used to create suction on the skin to increase circulation.

Gua sha: A small, flat ox bone tool is moved across the skin to unblock areas of stagnation. This technique is also used to reduce and tonify acupuncture points.

TDP lamp: A therapeutic heating device which is placed over specific areas of the body to increase circulation to help alleviate pain and stiffness.

Ear seeds or Press tacks: Used for continuous stimulation to acupuncture points as a take home treatment.

Acupoint Injection Therapy: involves the injection of herbs, homeopathics and other nutritional supplements in the form of sterile supplements into acupuncture points by means of hypodermic needles.
